Grandparent's Right - Please Help Reunite Hunter with his grandma! sign now

This petition is being organized on behalf of all granparents and rights to their grandchildren. I lost my son on September 24, 2007, he was electrocuted at work. He left behind many people who loved him but most of all he left behind a six year old son, Hunter. My son was in the process of a divorce at the time of his death. He was seperated from his wife, he lived in his own residence and so did his ex. The mother would allow me to take the child for weekends, sometimes longer. This child has his own bedroom at my home, clothes, toys, and his own memories. I formed a very close bond with my grandson from the day of his birth. Hunter was always at my house and I could see him anytime I pleased. Despite the fact my son and his wife were seperated I still had a good relationship with her up until the day my son died. From that day forward she denyed me the rights to visitation of my grandson. As I stated this child was always at my residence and with my family. The said child looked forward to spending time with grandma. I formed a six year bond with this child and in an instant this bond is broken because the mother can. This child lost his father and for no good reason his mother is denying him his grandmother. My question is why should children suffer because the parent has no heart and wants to prove a point. This child is suffering extremely, all in one week he lost his father and his fathers family. I have spent a great deal of time with this child and I am going to fight for visitation of him. I will accept any type of visitation with him even if I have to sit in a supervised court room, but I do not want it done at her house or her family's house. I am currently in the process of going through the courts to receive visitation. I have filed my first petition and received a denial from the child's mother. This is not fair to the children or the grandparents. Good parents earn the right to be grandparents and be involved in their grandchildren's lives. These children do not ask to be brought into this world only to be introduced to their grandparents and then be ripped out of their lives when the parents feels the need too. This is a form of child abuse, this is mental abuse. Now this child is thinking "I lost my daddy because he died, now where is my grandma?". This mother says she is doing what is best for the child, by keeping him away from his fathers family is not what is best for him. She stated time an again she want this part of her life over, well what gives her the right to do so. This child has been through alot in his little time he has been on the earth, he has been through his parents seperating, his father dying and now never seeing his fathers family. How can one look in their child's eyes day in and day out and not see their father and then deny that child all that he has left of his father. My grandson is all I have left of my deceased son and this women wants to deny both me and her son that. I think he has been through enough and now he has to be ran through the court system all because the law states that the natural mother has the right to say who their children sees. I feel all grandparents need to voice their opinion to all of our legislators in all states. As parents we raise our children hoping they will turn out right and choose the right partner to spend the rest of their lives with and when this does not work out, who suffers? The children do. I want to be the voice for all these children. The current law states that the parent has the right to choose who their children spends time with, but we are not talking about strangers, we are talking about grandparents. As grandparents we should have more rights. Many people who know me personally know that I have built a very strong bond with my grandson since birth. I have spent numerous amounts of time wth him in the past. His mother has not let me see my grandson since my son died on September 24, 2007. This is the longest I have gone without seeing him. This child deserves to spend time with his deceased fathers family. He is six years old and he does not deserve to lose his father at such a young age as well as his fathers family that he has already made memories with. Hunter is all I have left of my son. I have built a bond with him for six years. It is not right to pull me from his life after being in it for so long. This Christmas was my first Christmas I had to spend without my son as well as my grandson. My grandson has been at my house every Christmas since he has been born and now all the sudden his daddy dies and his mommy wont let him come to grandma's. I lost my son to an accident that couldn't be prevented and now I am losing my grandson to foolish pride. Please support us in our fight for visitation of my grandson. As soon as I get the court date I will be contacting the media to cover the story.

In closing I am forwarding this petition to Allegany Courthouse, US senate, US House, Governors, State House, State Senate, Local Pennsylvania media, Local Maryland Media, and St.Peters church in Westernport Md.

Ridiculous!! Utterly ridiculous, although I know it goes on all the time, everywhere. My parents went through the same thing and fought it and won, but their fight was with the maternal grandmother and she made it unbearable for my parents, who eventually
