Give Podcasts Equal Priority - Google, MSN, Yahoo, and AOL sign now

Facts (as of the time of this Petition's conception March 10, 2006):

Google - The only method of finding new Podcasts using your service is by searching and sifting through your entire index.

MSN - Similarly, the only method of finding new Podcasts using your service is by searching and sifting through your entire index.

Yahoo - You do provide a starting point for searchers to find new Podcasts. However, you force us to click on "All Y! Services...", which is an unusually small-size font. From there we must look under the "P" to find the link to your expanding Podcast Directory, podcast.yahoo.com.

AOL - Similar to Yahoo, you have a growing Podcast Directory (aol.com/Podcasting), but do not have a direct link to Podcasts on your homepage or SERPs.

-------

We, as Listeners, Podcasters, and supporters of your services, (the undersigned) request the following:

That you, as digital content organizers and compilers, give equal priority to Podcasts and Podcasters, as a part of your services by:

(1.) Promoting the Podcast Industry's standard terms; "Podcast", "Podcaster", and "Podcasting" to the users of their service.

(2.) Including a "Search for Podcasts" feature and/or link displayed on your homepage, and/or the top of your Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs), and/or other often visited pages by users of their services.

(3.) Creating and maintaining a "Podcast Directory" and promoting both a "Search for Podcasts" and "Submit a Podcast" links.

(4.) Equally featuring Podcast shows and/or Podcast Hosts as you do other entertainers, musicians, and "buzz" celebrities/shows.

(5.) Incorporate Listen to Podcast Episode, and/or Download Podcast Episode, and/or Subscribe to Podcast Feed to your Podcast Directory and/or Podcast listings.

(6.) Treat all Podcasts and Podcasters (large and small) equally by giving them fair consideration and treatment in Podcast listings, Podcast Directories and Podcast Submissions, except for Featured or Popular according to your own statistics.

(7.) Equal ongoing development of Podcast services as the Industry grows.

In conclusion, Podcasting is a large and rapidly growing industry that demands attention to both Podcasters and Listeners. Because you have requested our respect, our support, and our trust in your services, we request that you consider it your duty to provide a bridge between highly sought after digital content and the producers of such content.
