Fell Mountain timbering sign now

Fell Mountain (aka Merli-Sarnoski) is a mountain bikers Heaven inCarbondale, Pennsylvania. This petition is to STOP the harvesting WHERETHERE IS SINGLETRACK. The trails were made by the Lackawanna Bike Club, who spent years making this a mountain biking destination that is nowin danger. Our County Commissioners decided to do "SelectiveHarvesting". This was described as an area that DID NOT includeour singletrack. We recently found out the area had at least tripledand NOW INCLUDED approximately 7 miles of singletrack. Several peoplein our community have witnessed the damage that heavy machinery doesduring harvesting including ruts that are waist deep, branches leftbehind and excessive briars growing in. This has deeply saddened themountain bike community all around our area. Please sign this petitionto save our singletrack and let our County Commissioners know how muchwe love our singletrack.THE CITY OF CARBONDALE AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF MAYOR JUSTIN TAYLOR ISNOT AT ALL INVOLVED WITH THIS PROJECT.

This is such a beautiful set of trails. I have seen what logging will do to land like this and it will greatly diminish the pleasure of being there. It will take years for this land to recover. Whatever money will be gained is definitely not worth the des

Please dont sacrifice community for business. The loss of nature and trails is far more significant than profits - and we dont 'need' wood - it is a business not a necessity.

It is so disheartening to hear that this lovely park, partly reclaimed from the remains of coal mining and now reforested, may now be lost to lumber profiteering. Tell them to get their logs somewhere else that isn't in the public trust. But them from som

Yes, I agree there is too much logging operations going on in our forests here in Pennsylvania and if it isn't stopped, what will our grandchildren use for viewing the natural resources, a concrete sidewalk?!?!?!?!
