Extend Posting Time of Voter's Registration sign now

Extend the time for all Voter's Registration forms to be turned in for postmarking by 12 am midnight prior to a pending election.

Dear U.S. Congress,

On the night of October 4, 2004, me and a friend went to the local, 24-hour post office to get a voter's registration card and have it postmarked since it was the last day that residents in the State of Texas could register to vote in the pending election. We were informed that the cut-off time for the post office to accept the forms to be postmarked that day was 7 pm (CST). There was about 25-30 other people at the post office that were turned away.

This is a very disappointing thing because on April 15th of any year, the post office is able to accept mail for the IRS well after this 7 pm deadline.

When it comes to deciding who is going to be the next President of the United States, every person with the desire to vote should be able to do so and not have a techinical glitch as the opertations of the post office be a bearer.
