Everquest Antiquated PvP Server sign now

After over a decade since the inception of Everquest, it has somewhat stained the minds of a certain group of people, that group being the PvP fans. The game play for Everquest prior to the expansion Shadows of Luclin was arguably the best point in time for PvP players. Scars of Velious (the second installment) was simply the most comprehensive and balanced expansion for PvP battling. Old-world and The Ruins of Kunark had their share of imbalance regarding PvP, but many things set them apart from the expansion proceeding Scars of Velious: the biggest being the introduction of alternate advancement points and, most importantly, safe zones.
This proposal has the specific purpose to show Sony Online Entertainment that there is a large market of PvP- oriented players out there who are more than willing to play on an antiquated Everquest server that has PvP enabled and no progression system past the installment of Scars of Velious. The main tenet we as a PvP playing community want displayed here is that Safe zones and alternate advancement points are not an option for the players signing this proposal/ petition.

The rule set is something that is not entirely as important as the structure of the new potential server to this community of players. To be candid, many of us signing this proposal have very different views on how hard-coded teams should be, level ranges for attacking other players and whether or not item loot (except for the no drop items) is a good option. This is simply to ensure SOE that there is a large crowd of individuals out there who reminisce and are very nostalgic toward the days of old PvP, and regardless of the rule set, will begin playing again. We feel that the old-world, Kunark and Velious together provided a fully comprehensive and fair amount of raid targets to sustain a large population and still was small enough and precarious enough to excite and keep players interested. We ask that you consider the possibility of opening a new PvP server fully antiquated and with various patches from the newer expansions that were minor fixes to very irritable inconveniences in the old world of EQ (having to look at a spell book to meditate, etc.)

sincerely,

The PvP community
