End Exclusive Agreement Between EA and NFL sign now

In December 2004, video game developer Electronic Arts (EA) and the National Football League (NFL) inked a deal that granted EA with an exclusive license to use NFL teams, logos, stadiums, etc. in their flagship professional football video game series, Madden NFL. This effectively eliminated all competition in the market for games of the professional football genre.

We believe that as a result of EA's lack of a competitor in this genre, the quality, thoroughness, and innovation previously present in the Madden NFL series has severely declined.

The exclusive contract between EA and the NFL was originally set to expire in 2009, but on February 12, 2008, EA announced that it will extend the exclusive contract to end in 2013.

We find this to be unacceptable. We have given EA and the NFL the benefit of the doubt and have given them a chance to show that their partnership would result in great additions to the Madden NFL series, but instead we have been forced to deal with sub-par, rehash, unpolished games year and year; forced, because there is no alternative.

We believe the poor quality of game is a direct result of this agreement between EA and the NFL, and we believe that EA and the NFL owe it us to as fans of video games and fans of professional football to nullify this agreement immediately.

The only way to really encourage a change is for us to stop buying the game. Until we can hurt their profit they will not change.

Madden has deteriorated so badly over the years, that it is no longer worth my hard earned cash. I'm waiting for a real NFL simulation to hit the market..... but that won't happen until this exclusive agreement ENDS! No competition = Lazyness and complace

This monopoly is only hurting the consumer. There is no competitiveness so EA can release nearly the same game 3 years in a row.

I agree totally. ESPN 2k5 football game was way better than the most recent madden games. Please end this EA and NFL agreement so I can play a real football video game again.

The Madden franchise sucks. Lack of competition has allowed EA sports to give us a horrible product. Competition will force innovation and reward consumers with a better product.

Please NFL. Let there be competition between these gaming companies for improvements. Don't let one company monopolize the NFL brand. Thank you for reading.

I think EA has become a bunch of greedy unconfident cowards. End the license and lets see if they could hold up against competition.

I think EA sports is creating a monopoly. And we all know monopolies are illegal.

To whom it may concern in the NFL, please take a serious probe into what you have allowed to transpire with this deal. EA jumped @ this opportunity : reason being that their company was hitting a creativity ceiling. They(EA) would rather "buy out competit

Definitely time for a change. EA commits a robbery each year with sub par product. Each year they create a new catch phrase for the game play. after about 2 hours of gameplay one realizes that it's just window dressing. The animation was actually better o
