End Aminov's ordeal sign now

Dear Minister,

We would like to urge you to show some empathy and compassion in regards to Aminovs case. We urge you to exercise your discretionary powers and end their 10-year ordeal.
The family of the Aminovs partners, Samils and Alija, arrived (with their son Marat), 10 years ago from the former Soviet Union state of Latvia. They are not Latvian nationals and considered by Latvian authorities as stateless Aliens.
They arrived to Australia 1997. Their application for asylum was rejected, but they could not be deported anywhere because they are stateless.
We understand too that recently, and after their son's 5 years marriage to Australian citizen, the son got permanent residence here.
The Aminovs are entitled for family re-union visa, as Marat is the only son they have.
DIMA is admitting that this is the case, but they should apply from overseas, as according to the regulations. DIMA officials cannot realize that they cannot travel safely to any other country to apply for the family re-union visa.
We understand that their son, Marat, is on brink of collapse. He is receiving anti-depressant medication regularly. His life is permanently on hold.
Please end their ordeal and grant them a humanitarian visa, to let them start re-building their shattered life. Please do not separate them from their son.
