Country Music fans against Billboards tighter playlist for it's reporting Country Music stations sign now

Recently Wade Jessen, Director of Billboard and Airplay Monitor Country charts issued a revision to their long-standing policy regarding minimum standards for current music required for Country stations monitored BDS and used for chart tabulation.
The new policy requires all monitored stations used for chart to consistently maintain a minimum current percentage of 60\% among their 30 most-played titles. This is an increase from 33\%.
The 30 songs can be
1.On the chart which corresponds with each individual week of airplay data.

2.Any new titles that have not yet appeared on the current chart.

3. Any album tracks from unreleased or current albums not more than two years old.

Also 18 of 147 current reporting stations are being dropped for not adapting to these standards.

We supporters of country music object to such repetition and believe this policy is not in the public interest.

I am not going to listen to the same 30 songs on radio. I have already stopped listening to radio because they don't play certain artists. Eliza, http://asuuser18ga.tripod.com/

TNN sold out to CBS & now it's Spike with none of the shows we used to watch. CMT is showing movies & has dropped the Opry. We need for our radio stations to at least play more than just the Top few hits. Before long, will we not be able to get an

I don't listen to radio that much now - simply because I get tired of hearing the same handful of artists and songs - over and over!!! Variety is alive and well, so play more than just "country-pop", many of us still love to hear the legends and the older

This action will result in more repetition of the same 30 cuts over and over again. This will drive listeners away from traditional radio and to satellite radio or the listeners' own CD collections. This policy change should be reversed now.

This almost sounds like Communism. Do what we say or you are out of the club. This is why I can't stand to listen to radio anymore. I want to hear Billy Joe Shaver, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Jr. Dallas Moore and the old time Southern Rock artists, not
