Comcast "Advertisments" on our cable box Guides sign now

Dear Comcast,

Recently you have decided to PLACE GRAPHIC ADVERTISEMENTS in our digital cable's GUIDE feature. You chose to eliminate about 2 rows of channel information in exchange for a poorly rendered banner advertisement that is ugly, pointless, and distracting.

When we now press "Guide", you only show us 4 channels at a time. This is only 2 more than we see when using the onscreen browse feature. Essentially you have eliminated & handicapped the best feature of a digital cable box, and caused our ability to scan several channels at once to be diminished.

Your Sales department called this an "upgrade" - which is a vast misnomer.

Please realize that people are actually intelligent enough to read SEVERAL lines of text without being overloaded. We live in a digital millenium where we can read fast and disseminate information quickly. This "upgrade" is counter to that point, and slows down the process browsing. Overall your new "feature" has decreased the enjoyment of using digital cable.

Our ability to browse channels should not be at the whim of your sales department, and their advertisements. We receive enough ad information on a daily basis, and you are only contributing to the problem and angering us - your customers.

We issue this ultimatum to you. Either you stop selling space on our Guides, and any other location on our digital cable boxes, or we'll go elsewhere for our service (Dish or FIOS) - and take our friends with us.
