Citizens for Texas Immigration Reform sign now

Dear Gov. Perry,

We, the people, feel nothing is being done on the issue of Illegal Immigration. We feel that you (Mr. Perry) are more concerned with remaining in office, than on the issue of Immigration and what is in the best interest of Texas citizens. We understand the topic and what to do about it is complex. However, we would like to see some advances made on the issue to ensure the laws of this land are being upheld. We would like our rights protected over that of illegals, whom are here unlawfully. We would like the laws to be enforced. Overall, we want you to do your job as an elected official.

It is ironic that in a state that borders Mexico, not much has been done in the way of protecting citizens. Other states even local municipalities, here in Texas, have sought to address the issue that is plaguing their states and communities. But the state as a whole, under your leadership and direction has not done anything. Texas is a border state and we as citizens and taxpayers are suffering greatly due to the influx of illegal, non-English speaking invaders.

We understand that you and other politicians: are out of touch with the reality of average citizens, do not live in the communities of the illegals, are employed by us so you all are not looking for a job, and so forth, so you are not impacted by nor do you care about the effects of illegals on citizens. But, we are impacted daily so we want to help Gov. Perry and give some suggestions such as:

-Enforcement of current laws.

-No Amnesty for anyone regardless of where they came from.

-No sanctuary cities such as: Katy, Austin, Houston, Dallas....

-Enforce E-verify. If employers do not cooperate, fine them and make it a progressive fine based on the number of employees.

-Any business that knowingly or unknowingly employees an illegal should also be fined in the amount of 5,000 per person per day. No weak fines. Weak and/or low fines are ineffective. This places the burden on businesses that employ workers to prove the legal status of all employees; and it removes the temptation to subvert the law or to simply claim they didn't know.

-No business should be allowed to have a workforce of more than 50\% of one race AND/OR one language. In other words, any business that has more than a 50\% workforce of any race, would be in violation of the law. If it was discrimination in the 50, 60, etc. for a company to employ only one ethnic background, than that same standard should apply today.

-Employ more border patrol agents - either alone or in conjunction with the Fed. Govt. Deploy the Nat'l Guard along the border if need be. The fence was a useless waste of money; and cameras are ineffective without actual manpower to support.

-The EEOC should include discrimination based on language. No company, agency, department, organization, institution that receives taxpayer dollars of any amount should be allowed to require a citizen of this country - a English speaking country - to be bilingual in order to feed his/her family. Instead, make the person who chose to come into this country to learn the language of the country.

-Consider making this a English only state.

**Due to the fact that Immigration is largely a federal issue, you should work in conjunction with the Federal Govt. to achieve the last two items (because they are equally important) or at the very least suggest these two items be implemented at the federal level.

Again, we the citizens of this state, voting public and provider of your salary, retirement, insurance, etc. would like to suggest the above and any other to protect the citizens an legal immigrants of this state. More important, the recent events in AZ. almost demand you take action to prevent those residents from seeking sanctuary in Texas. We further feel if this state can join other states in suing the Federal Govt. over the recent health care bill, then surely you show some solidarity with AZ. regarding the issue of Immigration - as more people are impacted by the effects of Illegal Immigration than would be affected by the health care bill. In conclusion Mr. Perry, do your job. Prove to us voters that incumbents can be useful, you weren't just blowing smoke up the Tea Party activists a-- and that YOU are the leader this state should re-elect, again. We Sincerely hope you will enforce the laws of this state and protect the rights of legal citizens.

Thank-you.

Paying a fine and learning English sure sounds like Amnesty to me. How about they go home, then learn English, then pay the fees associated with becoming a citizen. If they can't/won't do that and if you can't/won't to do your job, then voters of this sta
