Christian bale for oscar

We would like to request that you vote for Christian Bale for Best Supporting Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in "The Fighter".

Over the past 25 years, Christian Bale has amassed a most impressive body of work in film. Even as a child, carrying the lead role in the film "Empire of the Sun" (1987), one could see the amazing and uncanny abilities as an actor that this young man had. Christian Bale, unlike many others in the business, made a very graceful transition from child actor to adult actor. His iconic portrayal of Patrick Bateman, in "American Psycho" (2000), finally gave him recognition as an adult actor. The truth was he had done quite of bit of independent film work before that film, i.e., "Metroland" (1997), "Velvet Goldmine" (1998), and "All The Little Animals" (1999), just to name a few. Christian Bale could easily be called "The Hardest Working Man In Show Business", since he went on to star in 15 more films since the release of "American Psycho". Everyone is familiar with the Batman films that Mr. Bale has starred in but, many forget his Oscar-worthy roles in "The Machinist" (2004), "The Prestige" (2006), and "Rescue Dawn" (2007). Audiences that have attended pre-screenings of "The Fighter", including viewers at Showeast 2010, have come away saying that Christian Bale will certainly earn an Oscar nomination for his role as the tormented ex-boxer, Dicky Eklund.

Werner Herzog, who directed Christian Bale in his portrayal of Dieter Dengler in "Rescue Dawn" said, "I have no doubt that Christian Bale is the best actor of his generation." We agree wholeheartedly with this assessment, as do many directors, actors, and other people inside and outside of the entertainment industry. So, we respectfully request that The Academy give a long overdue recognition to this man, and please cast your vote for Christian Bale.
