Change our Incompetent Boss sign now

We, IT Architecture Team in non IT company, are concerned with the poor and inhuman treatment that we get from our boss.

We do care about our company and we don't think that its brand or actions have anything to do with the fact that we have a very low level of work satisfaction; therefore we will not mention it in this document. The only important things are the facts about the treatment we got from our boss during last year, which are listed below.

1. One teammate refused to take place in organizing logistic details of a conference (hotel, plane ticket and conference room booking), because it was completely unrelated to her job description. In return she got "you are working for me and you have to do what ever I ask you to do" speech from our boss. The discussion affected her health and right now she is dealing with concerning heart damage.

2. Our boss does not have enough technical knowledge to be a Chief Architect, and the team can accept that fact, provided that he can do correctly and with quality all the work related to team leadership, management, assignments and evaluation work. So far he has not shown any interest in doing this job and does not show any tendency of changing his attitude in the future.

3. The only thing concerning our boss is his welfare in the company, which he shows every time by selecting only the cheapest of all possible solutions for any problems we had. By this act he is "saving money for the company", which is a single-minded practice that's bound to generate serious problems.

4. In one of the conversations our boss mentioned that "anybody can become IT Architect after a few crash-courses and workshops". He actually believes that "it is enough to know a few concepts to become Architect". At the very least we find this insulting to our years of education and experience.

5. We have lost quite a few teammates because of our boss and his treatment. Their job positions are not replaced because, according to our boss, "they never did anything and therefore we can manage without them". We have to mention that one of them did all of the team administration work (real team leader work); another one did complete definitions for our databases; and one of them did most of application architecture designs for J2EE applications that are still in use today.

6. According to our boss, we have to solve all our problems by ourselves, regardless of the kind of the problem. If we try to ask him for help, he will refuse to listen, insisting that any problem is in our hands, even though the problem is in his domain as Team Leader.

These are just some of the examples of wrong and insulting treatment we get from him on a daily basis. Therefore we have decided to take his advice and solve our problems ourselves. We have talked to the middle management, but they just didn't take us seriously. Also, we have talked to the senior management and got the same result.

We appeal to everyone to help us state our case and show to our senior management that our problems are serious and that we are not joking. By signing this petition, you are helping us improve quality of our work and our lives.
