Chadwick Farms Community to stop permits QuickSilver is attempting to be granted from Fort Worth and The Railroad Commissiion sign now

We the residents of Chadwick Farms do hereby present this petition to the Fort Worth City Council and Texas Railroad Commission to block high impact permits being requested by Quicksilver Resources to drill 4 gas wells on an existing pad site containing 3 wells, apparently permitted prior to the development of our community, bringing the total to 7 wells on that site. There are 50 homes and a historic site (The oldest cemetery in Fort Worth) as close as 200 feet from the well site. This is a passionate plea to preserve the health of our families and the value of our homes. Thiswill seriously risk the lives of our residents, especially compromising the health of the many children and elderly that live in our community. We have at this time 550 homeowners with plans to add another 250 homes. We have already experienced two explosions from existing wells. One involving a fire near the cemetery, and the other one has gone unexplained, involving a loud explosion and debris being thrown into the yards of homeowners(Most probably a methane gas explosion). We are surrounded by nature preserves and farmland with crops. This has been a sought after community for the quietness, the surrounding nature preserves and clean environment away from the city. We are a genuinely quiet friendly community and we love living here. Also the value of our homes will only increase in the future in this area unless Quicksilver destroys this natural environment we are so blessed to live in now. The law states Natural gas drilling is not allowed within 600 feet of homes!!!! Waivers were sought fraudulently under duress by telling people that they would not be compensated unless 100\% of the waivers were signed. They retracted that caveat after the waivers were signed at the prior meeting with homeowners. Also, a notary did not notarize these waivers in front of those signing. Fracing has been experienced before and the noise and lighting was definitely far beyond DISTURBANCE OF THE PEACE - the noise from fracing went on 24 hours a day. They had megaphones and actually harassed residents with the megaphones. The homes were lit up like an operating room 24 hours. This goes on for months. Erin Brokovich is now investigating Midland Texas where the highly toxic chemicals in Natural Gas fracing are suspect in the increasing serious health problems in their community. This is the only industry exempt from EPA regulations, and the chemicals they use are highly toxic. Congress is just beginning to close this loophole. Since when in America are some industries exempt from the law. We have spoken to a previous employee of a natural gas company who worked on the wells and he said they used full body suits and masks because of the dangerous chemical use and spills were daily events.
WE STAND UNITED AS A COMMUNITY AGAINST THESE PERMITS. WE STAND UNITED... FOR THE HEALTH OF OUR FAMILIES, FROM EXPLOSIONS, HIGHLY TOXIC CHEMICALS AND TO BE FREE FROM THE DISTURBANCE OF OUR PEACE, AND TO PRESERVE THE VALUE OF OUR HOMES!!!!!!!
