Buffoonery and "Bad Hair". sign now

To the marketing department at Dr.Miracles:

In reference to the above website we find the advertisement of your products to be insulting, embarrassing and a mockery to Black women. Your advertisements represent buffonery, and distaste at best. If your company desires its products to be taken seriously by the African American community, it will behoove you to verse yourself in the many ways that African American women wear their hair. Your advertisement on your website does more to insult African American women than appreciate the diversity of their beauty.

We are aware that the ethnic market demographic with its specific product performance requirements, continues to expand 2-5 times faster than the general market. We are members of this $1.5 billion ethnic HBC market, and have chosen to spend our dollars elsewhere. In addition we will discourage anyone from buying your products if you continue to advertise your products in such a distasteful manner.

I just recently broke the curse of low self-esteem by going natural 2 months ago. I've never experienced such FREEDOM! Could this hair thing be another form of slavery, or the residual impact of discrimination?

It saddens me that so many black women have chosen to partipate in your ad campaign and contests by making a mockery of their natural hair. There must be a better way to advertise your products. The ads are very offensive and ridiculous in some cases. All

It amazes me how in this day and age there is a product that boasts "african pride" and yet has an ad depicting a woman who looks like all of the jigaboo characters from last century.

The advertisment for this product is making a mockery of natural black hair. I think that the "Dr. Miracles" sould be boycotted.

Surely, there are better ways to market your products. There are those of us who find our natural texture beautiful and versatile.

I am totally disgusted by how they are marketing this product! It shows such direspect toward the very community they are marketing! Why should black hair in it's natural state be thought of as ugly and "bad"? Why must the models pose with bugeyed, minstr
