Bring IKEA to Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill sign now

We, the undersigned make the following statement: For quite a while there have been rumors that the Raleigh-Durham Chapel Hill Area of North Carolina was in the running for a future IKEA store. Thus far, we have been disappointed, but as Atlanta recently opened one and with rumors that there will be others opening in the Southeastern US, we felt it time to let our voices be heard. BRING one to NC!!!

We believe IKEA could benefit from opening a store in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, North Carolina based on the following criteria:

*Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill are located in sunny North Carolina, the 11th most populated state in the Union with 8.5 million in inhabitants... you already put one in Minnesota and they have half the population we do.

*Latest census puts the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metro area population at 1.5 million and growing.

*We are served by three major interstate highways: I-85, I-40 and I-95, their spurs: I-440 and I-540, and six secondary highways: US 1, US 15, US 64, US 70, US 401, and US 501. With rail connections as well as two major ports, in Wilmington, NC and Morehead City, NC.

*The metro area of Charlotte, NC is only 2 1/2 hours of interestate driving away.

*We have loads of major Universities and colleges with thousands of students turning over every semester
