Bring Back the ENGLISH Laptop Keyboard in Canada!!!! sign now

WHEREAS, the freedom of choice is a hallmark of consumer rights, and

WHEREAS, in Canada according to 2006 Census data 80\% of the Canadian public speaks ENGLISH or another language OTHER than french, and

WHEREAS in North America since the dawn of computing the QWERTY keyboard has remained unchanged until recently in CANADA:

WE THE UNDERSIGNED DEMAND THE DISCONTINUATION OF THE POLICY OF ONLY ALLOWING CANADIAN CONSUMERS THE OPTION OF PURCHASING *BILINGUAL* KEYBOARDS ON LAPTOP COMPUTERS.

This recently adopted policy amongst Canadian computer offerings has dictated to Canadian consumers that if they choose to buy a laptop in Canada that they must RE-LEARN how they type, or else \they} will have to live with \|characters >> that they did not intend to type in their documents!

The small left SHIFT key and the further spaced out ENTER key create (for anyone who KNOWS how to touch type on a QWERTY keyboard) a situation where it is nearly impossible to type as we have for YEARS without constant errors and difficulty.

THIS INSANITY HAS TO END! Go BACK to the way things were and offer a FRENCH version of keyboards that can be installed should someone WANT it. THE 80\% OF US IN CANADA WHO DO NOT USE THE FRENCH KEYS DO NOT WANT THIS EXTRA HASSLE!!!!

Yes, French iis an official language of Canada, but that doesn't mean we have to be forced to speak it or type it!!!

I have an RSI and can't use bilingual keyboards b/c of the enter key. You can't remap the keys to regular enter and regular left shift without losing all the backslashes either. I'm going to buy my computer in the USA because Canada has done this.

The change from the US standard keyboard layout is unacceptable; I refuse to purchase a laptop computer in Canada; every computer purchase from now on will be in the US!

Should we compromise a majority requirement to make it easy for very much less number of people? This is just another addition to the list of sacrifices/sufferings of Canadian majority.

This keyboard is a good idea, but a very poor desing, they should of left the accent keys on the right with the others, therefore shrinking the right shif key instead of the left.

I agree. This is a French language conspiracy that will keep me from ever buying another laptop in Canada.

As Canadian consumers, we should be given the choice of keyboard layouts since we have two official languages. We should not be forced into using a layout that benefits such a small portion of the population.

At least give us an option to choose which keyboard we want on our Laptop. Pushing Bilingual Keyboard out on the market is like Pushing Standard Transmission Car out in Canada. Car Manufacturers give the consumers to choose the transmission, why laptop ma
