Bring back Saturday Night TV sign now

Do you remember those great Saturday nights? Gathering everyone up into the living room and turning on the TV to watch Gladiators, You Bet, Don't Try This at Home, or even Family Fortunes? Do you remember sending application forms to apply for a spot in one of these shows? Do you remember when everybody was able to join in the fun? Well those cherished memories of Saturday nights HAVE BEEN RUINED BY MODERN TELEVISION!

Personally, I know quite a lot of people who are sick of sitting there being forced to watch The Discovery Channel or just flick through endless cable channels simply because the content provided in today's TV is either the same boring old Reality TV show or a horrible cheesy classic knock-off. About the only thing worth watching now is Who Wants to be a Millionaire and that is not enough to keep me entertained. The reason I watched so many of these shows is because they were fun to watch and everyone can watch it. You Bet had a cause, to raise money for charities in need. Gladiators never got old since it was broadcast for nearly AN ENTIRE DECADE.

But then marched in the new hotshot producers who simply ruined the perfectly decent chain of shows with what they thought was a revolution in Saturday Night Television and then ended up killing it. The effects included the family favourite Family Fortunes to be cancelled, but later reintroduced with Celebrity Family Fortunes, ruining the whole idea of the game. And then came (not so) Reality TV which ruined everything in its wake. Big Brother was introduced to Channel 4, and we eventually got sick of hearing about it because it went on for 15 weeks, and it went on for 6 seasons. Nobody cared any more, it was that bad. Im a Celebrity Get Me out of Here was so terrible I fell into a coma whenever I watched it. And the likes of X-Factor and Pop-Idol? The less said about that rubbish the better. Reality TV has been exhausted to the point where it isn't original any more. Do we have to accept the fact whatever opinions we had back then do not apply to the life of Modern TV? NO! So the sooner we tell the producers to put something up worth watching that doesn't involve celebrities flopping around a jungle like headless chickens or some random people wander around a controlled environment, the sooner we get to watch something at least half decent.

Remember, we don't need TV, TV needs us. As soon as they see the ratings for a show drop theyll cancel it. The only difference was back then they wanted a healthy pay check and shoved our favourites in the bin, and as long as were watching what they put on for us theyre getting paid. Now make a difference, sign this petition and refuse to have any more of this filth rammed down your throat by not watching anything. There are obviously better things to do with your time than sitting there watching stuff you didnt want to see in the first place, like going out for the evening or going for a game of footie at the gym. The sooner you do that; the sooner the TV Producers will be forced to do something about it. And if they eventually get the idea and ask what we want to see, tell them we want something decent to watch, like back in the nineties.
