Axe Neighbours, Home and Away and Hollyoaks altogether sign now

We the undersigned request that Neighbours, Home and Away and Hollyoaks be axed altogether.

Although I am petitioning to get both Neighbours and Home and Away axed altogether its nothing personal. I actually loved both of these soaps when they first started. Neighbours started in Australia in 1985 and came to the United Kingdom in 1986. Home and Away started in Australia in 1987 and came to the United Kingdom in 1988. Both of these soaps were successful right from the word go but in the last ten years both have completely gone downhill. Back at the beginning both shows were well written and acted by all concerned and you had great characters like Helen Daniels, Jim, Paul, and Scott Robinson, Madge Ramsey, Charlene Mitchell, Harold Bishop, Des and Daphne Clarke, and Mrs Mangel the street gossip in Neighbours and the storylines were about everyday life. The same also applies to Home and Away they also had great characters back at the beginning like Tom and Pippa Fletcher, Alf, Ailsa and Roo Stewart, Neville and Floss, Bobby, Carly, Steven Matheson, Donald Fisher, Adam Cameron, Celia Stewart and best of all Morag Bellingham and again their storylines were also about everyday life. Both shows now are full of teenagers who can't act their way out of a paper bag and the storylines are that bloody awful and so far fetched its untrue. Personally I think it is time both soaps went in the knackers yard because they are nowhere near as popular as they used to be and all good things must come to an end. These two have certainly had their day and I think its time we looked for something new to put on in their place don't you. Neighbours at the start had around 16 million viewers, Home and Away had 15 million. They both now have around 2 million so what does that tell you. It tells me both of them have lost their sparkle and its time to put them both out of their misery for good.

Hollyoaks has always being a dreadful show since the day it was launched back in 1995 and apparently Channel 4 bosses were on about scrapping the show after 18 months. I don't know what changed their minds but they should have gone through with it there and then because how this show has managed to stay on television for 10 years I don't know. The storylines are far fetched and the acting is diabolical so wooden its untrue. The major problem with this show is the fact that it has always being a teenage soap which says it all really. Teenagers can't act their way out of a paper bag and don't have the experience of the proper actors do they. Television bosses still haven't grasped yet that good looks is no replacement for good acting and don't get me wrong there are some good looking people in Hollyoaks but the problem arises when any of them try and act they're hopeless. The sooner it is put in the knackers yard the better. It should have gone in the knackers yard with Brookside.
