We are currently required to fill out a special authority form for patients who receive the 8mg dose in order to attain full PharmaCare coverage for our patients and optimizing full clinical benefit by treating to target. This process is very time consuming and takes away time needed to diagnose and treat patients in our very busy practices.

Having full access to perindopril allows us to practice evidence-based medicine across a wide range of patients with vascular disease. This is based on landmark clinical outcome trials involving perindopril such as the EUROPA study (8mg proven in coronary artery disease), the ADVANCE study (Type 2 diabetes patients), the PROGRESS study (post stroke, TIA patients) and the HYVET study (elderly hypertensive patients).
