Apologize in Print or Fire Barry Shlachter sign now

We, The Undersigned, believe that Barry Shlachter, columnist for the McClatchy-owned Fort Worth Star-Telegram should be fired unless he prints an apology in his column for mocking the private burial service of Arthur J. McKee, distinguished and heroic fireman of FDNY Ladder 148. We feel Mr. Shlachter's unnecessary inclusion of private burial details in a story wholly unimportant to Fort Worth's business community was hurtful to the business reporting reputation of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and action must be taken for his editorial behavior.

This crap is not what I expect to read when I want to read about Fort Worth area business news. Slow news day + Schlachter's bad reporting = this.

Another Woodward-Berstein wannabe reporter that failed miserably to live up to the standards of an investigative report; thank goodness he is well hidden in the business section. Even sadder is the vague, wishy-washy "correction" -- not a great deal of ba

The level of editorial pride is so high at the FWST, they cannot bring themselves to see what everyone else seems to see, and that is the idiotic and unnecessarily defamatory remarks made about my father's burial service. Them keeping silent about this is

MNI stock had its worst day ever yesterday, the last thing they need is to project the image that they do not have a human side. Swallow the pride, FWS-T, apologize for him if he won't do it himself and move on. Your company cannot afford these reckless '
