Americans are special sign now
Dear President Obama, you recently allowed the release of memos which show that the United States engaged in actions which constitute torture when applied by anyone but a U.S. citizen.
You noted that while it is regretful that such actions took place punishment is inappropriate and that we should simply make sure that such things do not happen again in the future.
As an American I agree. We should not be punished for actions which would be criminal if a non-American did them. Americans do not need to adhere to the law. We simply need to promise that, in the face of past lawbreaking, we will not do it again.
Accordingly, I ask that you, using the authority of your office, grant a blanket pardon to everyone who has ever been convicted of any criminal offense as long as they promise never to do it (whatever it is) again (assuming they are currently alive).
