Allow Snaring of Land furbearers in Pennsylvania sign now

I believe that legalizing the snaring of land furbearers would be of great benefit to all wildlife and citizens of Pennsylvania.

By legalizing land snaring we could reduce overpopulation, spread of diseases, and property damage caused by nuisance animals. Land snaring could create revenue for the game commission by increasing license sales. Trappers would have more income opportunities from sales of furs without the large investment traps require. The growing coyote population could be controlled more easily. Non-target animals can be released without the risk of bodily injury to the trapper or the animal.

Currently it is legal to snare beaver only. I feel it would be beneficial to allow the use of snares to take at least foxes, racoons, and coyotes.

This change in regulations will offer more opportunities to the trappers already holding furtakers licenses as well as creating an opportunity for more people to join in this great sport. The change will also make Pennsylvania a better place to live without the risks of disease being spread by wildlife, automobile accidents caused by wildlife can be considerably reduced, and property damage caused by wildlife can be controlled more safely.

As a trapper that lives in a state where snares are legal on land, I can speak from experince. The proper use of snares as a wildlife harvesting tool is benifitual to both the trapper and the target animal. To show the safety of snares properly set, I mys

Snaring on land has been successfully practiced in many states of equal population, or perhaps more. The neighboring state of Ohio has had snaring on land legal for quite some time with no problems. It may be good for the game commissions of states to com
