A call for British Companies and/or Government to fund the Skylon Single Stage To Orbit Craft sign now

Britain often produces ground breaking designs, but they fail or go abroad because the funding can not be found. Skylon is one of these projects but it has been more a less shot down by the British Governments refusal to fund the program. Skylon is a Single Stage To Orbit Aircraft and would slash the cost of putting satalites in space. The Skylon project is or was ahead of the American X-33 Single Stage To Orbit Craft. Skylon promised to be a world beater.

I found out about Skylon when searching the net. Here are some useful links

This petition call apon British Business and/or The British Government to fund the Skylon Project.

Did you know that the English broke the sound barrier originally? It's true. In the race to break it, a race between a british and american team agreed to show the other all their research, in exchange for the same back. The British team shared their gath

The British aerospace industry once lead the world: There were even plans for a fully reusable shuttle system called MUSTARD that would have made the exploration of sapce and its commercial use as economic as the sea was in the 19th century. Do not let En

Given the shocking and catastrophic failure of the shuttle program, and continual failures of Ariane 5, surely the atmosphere is right for such a vehicle as Skylon. This not another Concorde in search of a role - this is British innovation coming at the r

UK was first with the jet enginees, and has great rocket enginees i the end of sixtie's. It's seen that the UK government has no patience, and missed the train several times. Hopes now thisn't should be a new missed opportunity. Greetings from Sweden!! Sh

Look at the impact of the jet engine on the world today. This project has the potential to do the same for space travel as the jet engine did for air travel. This is a very important project. Should the British Government support Skylon? No Should private

AT present there are numerous individuals and small companies in the UK trying for space in one form or another. As the government is completely incapable of any vision in this area (in-bred politicians, self servers and paper pushers) wouldn't it make se

I totally agree with this. Britain started off as one of the worlds leading countries in virtually everything. Nowadays were subject to fumbling Beaurocracy, and being constantly upstaged by the Yanks across the water. I say we bring a bit of our success
