9/11 National Remembrance Day sign now

I got this a while ago & I tried to reply to the address, but it's either no longer in service or not a valid address... but I just recently received it again...

This is from a 14 year old boy who lost his father on
Sept. 11th. He's got a good idea. Thanks!

I lost my Dad on September 11th; he was Chief Edward Geraghty, Battalion 9, New York City Fire Department. He lost his life with many other heroes that day, victims of the terrorists. Firefighters from all over have come to the aid and rescue of the tragedy in New York and Washington, D.C. Many firefighters have lost their lives to save someone else's; the truth of the matter is, they do this every single day. They truly are heroes. I know many people feel helpless, especially those who live far from NYC and D.C. We all want to do something, show our appreciation, our support. I think we can ...

In honor of the bravery, courage and determination of American firefighters, there should be a day in our nation to
celebrate and appreciate their hard-work and never-ending passion for saving lives. I think we should honor all those other heroes who still live today. I'm starting a petition for a National Firefighters Day. Will you help make every September 11th National Firefighters Day? Please join me!

Thank you.
Connor Geraghty, age 14
Rockville Centre, New York (I Love u, DAD!!)

P.S. When this list reaches 250 names, please send it back to me at: [email protected]

The problem I have with this is it wouldn't be fair to everyone else that lost someone in the WTC bombing, to make 9/11 'National Firefighters Day'... it would be like saying that all of the other people that died didn't really matter. What it should be called is "9/11 National Remembrance Day" to pay respects to EVERYONE that died on 9/11. WTC bombing, the Pentagon bombing and the people who died in the plane crash in PA... all of those people deserve remembrance too, not just the fire fighters. If you agree to this please sign your name to this petion, it's better than e-mailing the list to everyone in your address book, this way we can keep an up to date tally of all of the names.

City & State australia okay, 9/11 was a bad thing, but if there was anational holiday for every terrorist attack ever, we would be on a permament holiday. you just need to get along with your lives, not have a holiday when anything bad happens.
