Stop the Rubbish Tax - Keep Somerset Recycling sign now

Four household recycling centres previously facing closure have introduced entrance fees of £1.20 and £2. The rest have their opening times reduced by two days a week. And all sites now charge for the disposal of gas bottles (up to £35), soil and hardcore (up to £116) and car tyres (up to £4.20).

Somerset is the first county in the country to introduce such charges, a sad notoriety for our area and a desperate one when so many people are actively trying to recycle more and to collect litter in their area.

By signing this petition you are saying that Somerset County Council should think again about this policy.
