FIRST NATIONS PROVINCIAL DAY OF ACTION PETITION – FIRST NATION CITIZENS sign now

As First Nation people, we have had Inherent Rights since the beginning of our existence. Our ancestors negotiated Treaty with the Crown in Right of Great Britain with our Inherent Rights and jurisdiction intact. As signatories to Treaty, we and the Crown are obligated to continually implement said Treaty on an ongoing basis. These obligations extend to the settler state, to wit, the province of Saskatchewan. The federal and provincial Crown are indivisible. For too long, First Nation people have been witness to the Crown’s unilateral interpretation of Treaty.
Pursuant to Procedural Resolution #1776, dated 6 July 2011, the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is proceeding with a demonstrative day of action against the government of Saskatchewan at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Saskatchewan Legislature in the City of Regina. Our purpose is to articulate our positions concerning specific areas of discontent; areas which include, but are not limited to, safety and protection, health and social development, justice, education, economic development, natural resource revenue sharing, environmental protection and employment.
The time has come for Canada’s three Orders of Government to come together to truly honour Treaty and develop viable and enduring solutions for the problems facing Saskatchewan’s First Nation people. In addition to participating in the event, please show your support for this important cause by signing the FIRST NATIONS PROVINCIAL DAY OF ACTION PETITION below:
