Call for Government investigation into UK Passport delays at British Embassy Washington, US sign now

The UK Embassy in Washington DC is currently behind with passport processing to the tune of 12-15 weeks, leaving hundreds, if not thousands, stranded in the United States. These are British Citizens wishing, many needing, to get home for sick relatives, family visits, business, or new careers. This delay also affects Brits in Canada and the Caribbean.

This Petition calls for an investigation into the office, the reasons for the delays/backlogs, and asks for transparency in figures and estimated processing times.

We would also ask that all fees be waived on the Careline until further notice, and that extra staffing is provided to facilitate reasonable processing times.
