HELP bring affordable food prices to Nunavut communties so kids can eat

Nutrition North replaced the old food mail program on April 1, 2011, directing air freight subsidies
directly to retailers to encourage competition among air carriers. This new program was supposed to
help lower the cost of healthy foods in stores across the north. In its first six months, Nutrition
North spent more than $24 million on air freight subsidies to northern retailers. Instead, food
prices have risen to the point where people are going hungry and even our own Government is not
paying Attention.

Even our own Nunavut Government seems to be ignoring the problem. Once we get enough signatures this
petition will be sent to all the ministers and the Premier. We have to keep this topic alive or they
will forget about it.
